Friends of the Gunn Museum
Membership Group Formed in Washington
A new membership group called Friends of the Gunn Museum is giving residents, devoted to their local history, a new way of showing their support for the Gunn Memorial Museum. Endorsed by the Gunn Memorial Library and Museum's Board of Trustees, Friends of the Gunn Museum will have a direct impact on the future of the Gunn Museum, which has been steadfastly collecting, preserving and sharing the history of Washington, Connecticut. The money raised through membership dues and donations will be directed to such Museum priority areas as the care and restoration of the 1781 Museum building and the preservation of the Museum's 10,000-plus artifact collection. As one of the benefits of membership, the group plans to mail to all town residents the first of a planned semi-annual newsletter, The Wash Conn Chronicles, with stories and photos from the museum's collections and a return envelope for membership. Look for it in your mailboxes at the end of the month.
